Dance Concert with Strengjarhaugen Folk Music Group
Welcome to a concert and dance evening with Strengjarhaugen Folk Music Group at Hardanger Folk Museum on Wednesday, 2 December at 6:30 pm.
The group consists of students from the Ole Bull Academy in Voss who are passionate about sharing folk music and folk dance in all their varied forms. The ensemble features singing, fiddle, accordion, diatonic button accordion (toradar) and, naturally, bass and guitar. The group is led by Vegar Vårdal. Having reached the final at the Norwegian National Folk Dance Festival (Landsfestivalen i gammaldans), they can confidently promise great dance music, so we hope you’ll bring your dancing shoes! There will also be musical performances where you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy how today’s talented musicians interpret and perform our cultural heritage.
A very warm welcome to an evening of music and dance!
The concert and dancing will continue until 8:15 pm. We’ll finish in time for you to catch the 8:30 pm ferry to Kvanndal.
The concerts at Hardanger Folk Museum are organised in collaboration with the Hardanger Folk Music Archive, with support from the Arts Council Norway.
