Dance Performance: To i takt (In Step)
On Friday, 25 September at 6:30 PM, Hardanger Folk Museum is delighted to invite you to a dance performance in the main hall.
To i takt is an intimate and physical folk dance performance about the relationship between two young men. The encounter between the one who takes up space and the one who would rather disappear into the crowd is explored through halling, partner dancing and acrobatic interaction. In the contrast between being strong and being vulnerable, being visible and being invisible, a space for reflection opens up: Can we manage to find a shared rhythm, even when we are very different?
The performance is based on traditional folk dance and folk music and is suitable for all ages. The story is shaped by current and relevant events and genuine encounters that both challenge and move us. Perhaps it is about friendship. Perhaps about brotherhood. Perhaps about the struggles in life that you do not always have to face alone. Sometimes we have to fall in order to rise again stronger.
Do we dare to lose our own footing in order to support someone else who is in danger of losing theirs?
Participants
Håkon Odden – choreographer and dancer
Ådne Kolbjørnshus – co-creating dancer
Sindre Tronrud – musician and composer
The performance is part of Førdefestivalen’s VestaFolk project and is supported by Vestland County Municipality and the Sparebankstiftinga Sogn og Fjordane foundation. The concerts at Hardanger Folk Museum are organised in collaboration with the Hardanger Folk Music Collection and with support from the Norwegian Arts Council.
