Here, valuable buildings from Hardanger are gathered, such as living houses, barns, storehouses, cowsheds, and smokehouses. There are residential houses from the Middle Ages, and a schoolroom that was in use until the 1960s. The houses are furnished with period-appropriate settings, reflecting how they may have appeared when in daily use. Our guides will take you inside the houses and share stories about life in the courtyard, the buildings, and how people lived in Hardanger in earlier times.<\/p>\n<p>In the museum courtyard, you&#8217;ll also find an orchard.
